Americas Next Top Model: Kat Yun-Marie Steps to the Front

Out of that mold comes 19 year old Detroit native Kat Yun Marie. Fresh to the modeling world, she's attacking the game like Bush on Iraq! Already you can see her on XXL.com and TheSource.com. Eye Candy and King Magazine are showing love as well.   

LastWordOnline.com is always on the cusp of finding the next big thing. Kat is the model world's next big thing and she catches up with LWO to talk about haters, the industry and why she's bigger than being the "thickest Asian" in the game.

LastWordOnline.com: And it's been on ever since. How's the life been treating you so far?  

Kat Yun-Marie: It's not as easy as I thought it was going to be. It's more than just taking pictures. I'm known by my website and the internet so that's boost me a lot.   

LastWordOnline.com: What has been the hardest aspect?   

Kat Yun Marie: My schedule. I can't shoot as much because I'm still in school and I do extracurriculars. I dance for Wayne State and I work. Putting modeling into the schedule is hard. I am having fun with it or I wouldn't be doing it.   

LastWordOnline.com: You're starting to pop up all over right now. Where are some of the places that people have seen you so far?   

Kat Yun Marie: I'm supposed to be in FEDS, but I don't know what's up with that just yet. I'm on RoyalThickness.com right now and XXL.com and TheSource.com.   

LastWordOnline.com: When are we going to see your site?   

Kat Yun-Marie: Soon. I have a couple more shoots. I want to launch it the beginning of '08.  

LastWordOnline.com: Do you have anyone you look up to as far as models?   

Kat Yun Marie: I love Kimora Lee Simmons. That's my role model. The type of modeling I'm in, I look up to Melissa Ford. That's my role model [too]. I look up to her a lot. I respect how she handles her business as well.   

LastWordOnline.com: How have you dealt with the haters? Because I know you got some.   

Kat Yun-Marie: At first, it got to me. But I just said, hey, everyone is going to have their comment and have their opinion. Just because someone will say something about me doesn't mean anything about me. It's hard because I've had some real hurtful comments said about me and it almost tore me down. But thank God for Duane. He always had something good to say and build me back up. But that's just the game. People always have something bad to say about someone that's known.   

LastWordOnline.com: This is going to sound real stupid, but, what stands out about you the most?   

Kat Yun-Marie: My butt. They say I'm the thickest Asian in the game. I can take that as a good thing. But, I don't want to be known as just that. You know, I'm majoring in Accounting right now at Wayne State University and I want to be a CPA as a fall back.

Kat Yun-Marie: My website will be fully launched. I want to be in King and XXL. I also want to do some videos too. So, you'll see me.
